ok NOW there are spoilers for dkr so BE WARNED

batman has plenty of alternate masks and suits for various conditions. you just don’t see them in the movies because none of them are necessary in gotham

yyyyyesss this is true and ive seen a bunch of those in the comics but i feel like they  could have made use of them actually?  i just think having mouth and eyes exposed like that is really dangerous and unnecessarily showmanship-y-ish?  like it would just help him be better at what he does to cover up a bit more.  also the idea of the bat being “a symbol, he could be anyone” as long as theyre a white man about 35 years old with a lot of money and such, it just helps give away too much identity

They explained the reason for the mask in the movie I’m pretty sure. When Bane saved the girl (can’t remember his name) his face was wounded horribly and the doctors in the pit couldn’t do anything for him. It’s there to stop the pain.

yes this is true but a body would naturally build up a tolerance to any drug like that if its administered for the 20 years hes worn it, and im sure there would be a surgical option to fix him anyway, like its not like its physically holding his face together
